Only 16 miles north of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, nestled in the Appalachian Mountains, a log cabin was constructed in 1737 by Mr. James Murphy. 244 years later the Bisking family purchased the quaint log cabin and the 50 acres of hillside surrounding the cabin. Come experience the peace and quiet of beautiful Powells Valley, Upper Dauphin County where you are just minutes away from hiking the Appalachian Trail, fishing Powells Creek, Clarks Creek or Stoney Creek, three of Pennsylvania's best trout streams or just experience life in the country with unpretentious rest and relaxation. Recently Gov. Tom Ridge proudly announced Pennsylvania's first conservation area, worth more than $1.5 million. Located within walking distance of the Bisking Inn the Joseph E. Ibberson Conservation Area consists of 350 acres of unspoiled woods and trails. Perfect for hiking,wildlife watching, and hunting. The Appalachian Trail traverses this new conservation area. If desired, guest privileges for golf are available at the nearby Golf Club at Felicita Spa and Resort. Allow proprietors Dick and Doris Bisking to cater to your needs in this beautiful farm house where elegant touches of the past and present are everywhere. A section of exposed logs from the original log cabin is still part of the interior hallway as a new section was added which consists of an exposed wood ceiling, 16 ft. stone fireplace, large lounge area with a private bar set in stone. The view of beautiful Powells Valley, a sight to behold and cherish, can be seen from the large windowed lounge area or by walking the beautiful grounds of the Inn. Four warm, charming guest rooms are furnished tastefully and await your presence. Rooms are available with twin brass beds, antique double beds or a queen size four-poster bed with hand crocheted lace canopy and skirting. A full country breakfast and complimentary afternoon and evening refreshments are included with your stay. Lunch and dinner can be arranged at the renowned Carsonville Hotel.
